It was released on June 4, 2001 and peaked at #13 in the UK Singles Chart (selling around 38,898 copies) and #40 in North America. The music video and single cover feature her daughter Phoenix Chi.The song was co-written by Melanie Brown, Richard Stannard, Julian Gallagher and Richard Norris.
The video for Lullaby was filmed in Morocco and features Melanie B walking down an alley way singing and at one point helping a child tie his shoes. The video ends with Melanie B walking onto a beach singing the end of the song. Shots of Melanie B with her daughter Phoenix Chi are shown throughout the video. This aroused controversy with the media saying she was exploiting her daughter for ratings and labeling her 'Desperate Spice'.
